Francille and I left Plano a month ago and headed west at a leisurely pace. With lots of rain this year, the normally arid parts of southern New Mexico and Arizona were unusually green and we saw numerous wildflower outgrowths. By the time we reached California, even the desert side of the mountains were green. This is a trip we've made several times now, and each time we seem to find something new and beautiful to enjoy.
We spent our first week in California visiting with Molly; parking in a nice campground about 30 minutes from her place in Santa Monica. The short commute left us plenty of time to try several new restaurants, and add some new destinations to our list of "must see" attractions in the LA area. Molly baked a cake and we celebrated Francille's birthday with a lovely dinner at Molly's with several friends, including her boyfriend Traynor.

The next couple of weeks we hooked up with our motorhome friends for a rally and a trip to a large gathering of other motorhome owners. There were about 3500 coaches present at the convention at the Pomona fairgrounds. All the manufacturers were showing their new coaches, and every imaginable vendor of add-on products for one's coach seemed to be present. We again walked away feeling very happy with our motorhome and the great group of people that we've met over the past several years.
Last week we had a break before starting our Palm Springs motorcade, and we had a chance to again get together with Phil, Linda and family. We had a wonderful time when Andy, now attending UCLA law school, and his girlfriend Molly came out for dinner one evening. Phillip had to leave early, but we got to see him and daughter Gwen over at Phil's another evening.

As I write this we're in Palm Springs on our motorcade for another week before heading back home. Hopefully this first feeble attempt to add something to Julie's new Holmer Family Blog will encourage other recalcitrant writers to do the same!!
Love to all.............see you in July!!
