Reunion countdown

DaisypathVacation Ticker

It's hard to believe our Asheville family reunion is only about 3 months away! Have you made your travel arrangements yet?

To get you in the "reunion mood" (as if we need any help with this), I thought I'd share a video montage I put together for Beth & Steve of the girls from Isle of Palms. What a fun trip that was! Thanks again Uncle Dale & Aunt Willa for the fantastic lodging and all the planning time you spent. The memories are priceless!

Happy Birthday Steve

Last weekend we had a surprise party for Steve's 43rd birthday early. Even though he was wondering why the house was so clean, he didn't realize we were plotting the surprise. Chris came down from Philly and joined in the fun. Steve's birthday is March 24th.

Holmers in New Orleans!

Last weekend my mom, dad, tad, and I were a part of my good friend Jane's wedding. It was a fabulous cajun affair in Jackson Square!

California Trip

Francille and I left Plano a month ago and headed west at a leisurely pace. With lots of rain this year, the normally arid parts of southern New Mexico and Arizona were unusually green and we saw numerous wildflower outgrowths. By the time we reached California, even the desert side of the mountains were green. This is a trip we've made several times now, and each time we seem to find something new and beautiful to enjoy.

We spent our first week in California visiting with Molly; parking in a nice campground about 30 minutes from her place in Santa Monica. The short commute left us plenty of time to try several new restaurants, and add some new destinations to our list of "must see" attractions in the LA area. Molly baked a cake and we celebrated Francille's birthday with a lovely dinner at Molly's with several friends, including her boyfriend Traynor.

The next couple of weeks we hooked up with our motorhome friends for a rally and a trip to a large gathering of other motorhome owners. There were about 3500 coaches present at the convention at the Pomona fairgrounds. All the manufacturers were showing their new coaches, and every imaginable vendor of add-on products for one's coach seemed to be present. We again walked away feeling very happy with our motorhome and the great group of people that we've met over the past several years.

Last week we had a break before starting our Palm Springs motorcade, and we had a chance to again get together with Phil, Linda and family. We had a wonderful time when Andy, now attending UCLA law school, and his girlfriend Molly came out for dinner one evening. Phillip had to leave early, but we got to see him and daughter Gwen over at Phil's another evening.

As I write this we're in Palm Springs on our motorcade for another week before heading back home. Hopefully this first feeble attempt to add something to Julie's new Holmer Family Blog will encourage other recalcitrant writers to do the same!!
Love to all.............see you in July!!

Thanks Julie for setting this

Hello Family!
thanks Julie for setting this family blog up for the family! We hope everyone is doing well, we are fortunately back to normal here, as Carol came down with the flu, and when she stays home from school you know she's sick. Mama June did not catch it, nor did I.................we got very lucky.

Congratulations Dana and Tad on your engagement!!

Stay healthy all, and have a great spring!
