Hi Family,
Thought we (Aunt Willa and I) could pick your brains for some dinner suggestions while in Asheville. We have reservations for Wednesday (out) and Friday at the resort. The other days are up for grabs. Family members will be golfing, shopping, sightseeing, etc., and we don't have to plan for every night, but it would be nice to make plans for the family to gather for at least one other dinner together. What do you think of making one night "cottage hopping" and have drinks and snacks (say at the Lodge--which be ALWAYS AVAILABLE), and one course at each cottage and dessert at the last? Everyone (not just those staying in the cottages) could all pitch in preparing and cleaning up. Does this sound like something that would work?
We should also start thinking of dishes that can be made without being cooked or only using a microwave as that's all we'll have to work with at the Lodge. Please comment with your ideas and suggestions!

sounds fun!! I'm in...how many locations do we have total for the hopping? Perhaps then we could divvy up the courses among the locations. I say cocktails at ALL of them, though ;-)
There will be three cottages plus the lodge ... so we could do cocktails at the lodge and then appetizers, entrees and then desserts at the cottages.
Julie, sounds fabulous. I'd be happy to be on the appetizer or dessert team! I can make my 7-layer mexican dip or artichoke dip...I was going to say I can make a banana-chocolate chip cake or my chocolate cavity maker bundt cake but you say there is no oven? May have to get a little more creative then...
Dana, there are ovens in the cottages, just not at the lodge. Since you could make a cake in advance, it would be easy enough to cook it at one of the condos! And the dips sound yummy too!
If the hopping is on Saturday night I would be glad to help. I can make spinach dip and bread along with a dessert.
