HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL THE HOLMERS!
Sorry, but I didn't get many Christmas cards sent and I apologize. I'm just now beginning to feel human after the hernia surgery. The post recovery will be very lengthy as a great deal of pain remains.
For those who didn't know, it took an 8 1/2 x 11 mesh to cover the hernia from the inside. Nine holes were used to scope all this, then the mesh was doubled around the outside and staples applied every 1/2 inch. Since I had the flu and was throwing up, then diarrhea, then became anemic, then had kidney stones, I was about knocked out when Willa came to my rescue with some good soul food - chicken & noodles stew -- Thanks again Willa! All those problems exerted a great deal of strain on the mesh and the staples so now I've got the pain. I return to Cincinnati in a few weeks to have another exam and hopefully all is OK.
Thanks to all for the Christmas cards and Get Well cards. Looking forward to seeing all in June!
Love,
Uncle Don
